Holiday Treats = Holiday Toothaches.

We will probably be munching down on goodies that we normally don’t enjoy in our regular daily life as the holiday season is upon us.  It is okay to “fall off the wagon” for a bit.  Just remember to follow the rest of your daily dental healthcare regimen…maybe brush a little more frequently, floss regularly, and rinse with your favorite mouthwash.

Now IF you have a tooth that begins to ache do not ignore it thinking it will go away once you stop eating sweet treats.  Your mouth is trying to tell you that something is wrong and that you need to contact a dentist right away.

Dr. David Blackman DDS serves the Carol Stream, Bloomingdale, and Wheaton area helping you through nearly any dental issue you may encounter.  Whether it is an emergency or routine maintenance, visit www.davidblackmandds.com or call Dr. Blackman today at (630) 260-1700 and visit his office at 400 North Gary Ave. in Carol Stream.

Dental Care and Your Overall Health

I’m sure that you understand that poor dental health care will probably lead to cavities and other problems in your mouth.  Are you aware that many more serious problems can result from poor dental health care?  You could be facing far more serious affects than just toothaches and stained teeth.

For example cardiovascular disease may be accelerated by bad dental care.  The bacteria from your gums may easily enter your blood stream and travel to your arteries.  This causes hardening of the arteries.  This could increase your risk of heart attack or stroke.  Diabetes may also be exacerbated as periodontal disease may make it harder to control your blood sugar levels.

We hope that you understand that dental health care may be the conduit to better overall health.  Don’t put off that visit to the dentist any longer.  Call your local Chicagoland dentist, Dr. David Blackman at (630) 260-1700.  Arrange an appointment at our office located at 400 North Gary Avenue in Carol Stream.  Your overall health may be at stake.
