Dental Care and Your Overall Health

I’m sure that you understand that poor dental health care will probably lead to cavities and other problems in your mouth.  Are you aware that many more serious problems can result from poor dental health care?  You could be facing far more serious affects than just toothaches and stained teeth.

For example cardiovascular disease may be accelerated by bad dental care.  The bacteria from your gums may easily enter your blood stream and travel to your arteries.  This causes hardening of the arteries.  This could increase your risk of heart attack or stroke.  Diabetes may also be exacerbated as periodontal disease may make it harder to control your blood sugar levels.

We hope that you understand that dental health care may be the conduit to better overall health.  Don’t put off that visit to the dentist any longer.  Call your local Chicagoland dentist, Dr. David Blackman at (630) 260-1700.  Arrange an appointment at our office located at 400 North Gary Avenue in Carol Stream.  Your overall health may be at stake.
