Floss Your Teeth and Gums at Least Twice a Day.

Floss your teeth regularly.  How many times have you heard this mantra?  Most dentists will recommend flossing after every meal.  Most of us don’t have that type of discipline.  If you are going to floss only once per day always be sure that it is just before bedtime.  Why not develop a habit of flossing after your mid-day meal as well?  Even in an office you can retreat to the restroom and handle that.

Of course the reason for flossing is to prevent food particles from fermenting on your teeth for hours at a time.  By at least doing this combined with brushing and swishing your teeth and gums with mouthwash before bed it has been proven that it is easier to fall asleep…and maybe just as important to wake up with fresher breath.

Today’s human has been blessed with improved medicine so that they can outlive their teeth.  A qualified dentist is still essential for regular cleanings and other important dental care.  Your friends at the office of Dr. David Blackman DDS of Carol Stream Il are here to help with general dental care as well as dental emergencies.  If you live in the Bloomingdale, Wheaton, and Carol Stream area visit our office at 400 North Gary Ave. or make an appointment by calling (630) 260-1700.
